Key Account and Business Development Manager, US

1928 Diagnostics is setting up its North American organization during 2020, starting with this recruitment. You will be instrumental to establishing our customer network and supporting the market development.

As a Key Account Manager at 1928 Diagnostics, with the US as your market, you will have the opportunity to work in the dynamic environment of a start-up to apply your passion for sales and business development to give hospitals actionable insights on genetic data and defeat antibacterial resistance globally.

At the forefront of digital health, 1928 Diagnostics strives to bring the full value of Bioinformatics Technology and Cloud Computing to revolutionize how health care fight antibiotic resistant bacteria. The company was elected a World Economic Forum Tech Pioneer in 2018.

As a KAM you will work to build a customer network within microbiology and infection control across the US. The company is in the early commercialization phase where we are working to establish a user base and at the same time rapidly develop the product in close collaboration with our users. You will report directly to the Chief Sales Officer, and be encouraged to take a great responsibility and be innovative in how we reach and build the market.

Main responsibilities

  • Develop and execute various sales and marketing events supporting business targets Including but not limited to:
    • Sales meetings
    • Prospecting
    • Customer collaboration
    • Conferences
    • Workshops
  • Find new business opportunities as well as managing existing client relations. Primarily through direct sales.
  • Build and develop the 1928 Diagnostics brand within the US microbiology community through collaboration and KOL engagement.
  • Support the organization strategically with market inputs and creative ideas on how to get the best reach in the market.
  • Initiate, develop and negotiate strategic partnerships via telephone, live meetings and web based communication
  • Work against both sales and activity targets
  • Plan and report activities and opportunities in 1928’s CRM system.
  • Work with different departments in the organization to coordinate and consistently provide excellent customer support.
  • Travelling within the US is expected to 50% of full time.

Qualifications

  • We want you to understand our customers and their reality, a BSc/MSc in Biotechnology, Genetics, Microbiology, Nursing, Bioinformatics or similar is required.
  • Min 5 years of commercial experience from the life science, diagnostics, medical device or pharmaceutical industry. Preferably with an already established network in the field of Medical Microbiology.
  • Knowledge in the US health care and reimbursement system
  • Experience form C-suite interactions in hospitals
  • Experience from reporting into a CRM system, Salesforce, Hubspot or similar.
  • Great communication and social skills.
  • Entrepreneurial drive
